Just as confusing at the first time I read it but it’s easier to understand because it’s completed

Okay I read this a second time now to understand it and I can say I finally get it a little bit . Still confused on why they didn’t become mates though

the focus of the story was to choose your partner as a person regardless of subgender, falling in love and staying in the relationship not because of pheromones but actual feelings for each other (=・ω・=)

Yeah but it's not like pheromones will affect them big time than before once they become mates, since it was emphasized that seme isn't sensitive to pheromones. and I'd honestly feel safer if they became mates, just thinking about how uke might accidentally get into heat out of nowhere without his seme and some other alpha marks him is giving me anxiety. Plus, bonding literally just means that only the seme can smell the ukes pheromones and only him can be affected by it so i don't get why not when they love each other already. It was already emphasized that they love each other regardless of pheromones so i think not being mates is completely unnecessary
