I don't know about y'all, but I actually really like the progression. It's realistic. I personally didn't give Haewon a second look because usually in stories like this the female lead is portrayed as so stead fast in a decision she hasn't even made yet that the 'second lead' never even has a chance and it feels like wasted time. Here, Haewon is actually being considered and I thought it was quite natural.
She met Geonwoo through some pretty wild events and it was sort of an intense and sudden crush, an infatuation. Those really do tend to fade, especially with missed timing like these two have had. I don't think she ever really considered Haewon because he's so reserved and she didn't know him well, but after getting closer with him and finding out he might like her, she's able to look at him and consider him properly and I think it's portrayed really well how she acknowledges she had an intense crush on Geonwoo but it's faded. Of course it could be reignited and he's certainly not eliminated from the race, but I also like seeing someone quiet and who maybe struggles expressing themselves being considered seriously. It's honest, and I really like the story, no matter who she ends up choosing (even if it's neither of them).
