It wasn’t like that. I’m currently reading a novel. They have him fake death pill, he wasn’t saved cause it was all faked. He can speak cause his muteness was a psychological trauma

well, he did try to suicide tho, since he said he's tired of being used by the emperor and the ML
but, maybe manhua and novel have a different details or something? since the one i read is from manhua
and he's not in coma because of the pill, but because of the gu worm or maybe poison i dont know (the one he got from the princess when he still together with the ML) it got flare up, and the pill he got from the emperor's sidekick(?) enhance the poison in his body, well that's what i got from reading the raw tho xD
and for the psychological trauma... maybe in the s3 the author will reveal it, since i think it should be trauma too

and the last chapter of s2, the MC suicide, but maybe because of fast response(?) of ML, he was saved by the doctor, and then after woke up from the coma, he drink something and violaaa, HE CAN SPEAK NOW!!!
