in the first couple of chapters they explain that director han (or like the other ML idk if that's his name) has this weird "disease" that causes him to feel very ill and get rlly sick whenever he gets too close to women (relatives don't count). it's defo not necessary but the director needed a secretary and for a lot of the events that he has to attend, he would need a female partner i.e parties. the director's first assistant requested that the orange haired dude would play as a women secretary for those reasons and the pay was tripled so that's why he took it.

I'm not sure where Vince is getting the idea that the director specifically wanted a female secretary, but I could have just missed that part. However, Assistant Xu and Secretary Lin are lying to the Director to have a natural "conditioning " effect. If the director knew his secretary is actually a male dressed as a female, he would reason his comfortability on the idea that his secretary is actually male and not female, and would thus continue to be sick around other females. I assume, him not knowing that Secretary Lin is male is more likely to persuade him to either be closer with other females to test out what makes him feel sick, or to slowly condition his mind to being comfortable around females. It's a bit hard to do that if you already know the person you're around is actually male. So if I read it correctly, Secretary Lin is not only there to act as a female companion to dinner parties, but to actually help solve the Directors problem with females.
Can someone explain to me why exactly do they need specifically a female employee. If it is to hide his condition in public and act as his beard then why is it a secret from him. Like why is it necessary to hide that he is a man?
