Nanao never had to be the defensive, prickly guy with the seme because the seme treasured Nanao and put his welfare first in everything. You saw Nanao fire up at Arisake over his job, but when he understood it where the seme was coming from they both talked it out.
So, I don’t think he lost his personality. Rather he was safe enough to be his authentic self and enjoy loving his seme and being loved in return.
from what i understood - he went from being a sadistic seme who took pleasure in putting assholes in their places to being a submissive uke who just fell for his seme. if he had at least been the seme, i wouldn't be this annoyed

you know , your way of understanding the story is different...nanao was never the seme ...he was a sadistic uke .....and treating your lover different is not wrong....he didnt change he just showed his true self to the seme and a strict front to others.
