Yea, I don't understand why she did it and whatever that reason is it doesn't justify hitting someone. People would have freaked out if a boy slapped a girl but what Mayu did was completely forgotten about.
It was so unnecessary for that bitch to slap Yuji. He didn't do anything that deserved to get slapped on the face. He didn't have any ill intentions. She could have showed more compassion towards him.
