Demon is a demon, he took everything from him. He know but the demon is all he has. He want a leverage from the demon. But being constricted by the demon, he doesn't know much. He only know what the demon whats jhim to know. Basically he's not in control but he wants to. He knew that if the demon knows what he's thinking it will abandon him. As I said, he is staying by mc' side all on his own. Except for the strang attraction the demon have toward mc, mc got no leverage(idk id I'm even using this word correctly) to keep the demon to him, be loyal. I mean.
Basically, he wants to know more about this demon and what they are so he can find a way to "control" him so it won't leave him(and, most importantly, keep him from telling him half truth. Like the scene with the dad. Demon guy told mc about enough stuff to make mc do things and nothing else. No benefit for mc.
