This might just be my take but I feel like Kang Moo likes overpowering someone with his own two hands. Same way the only way he has ever killed (or even attempted to kill kirin, too) is by choking or suffocation. so I think thats why he potentially prefers vanilla, but I could be reading too much into it!
I feel like it would have been too dangerous for them, so they intentionally don’t try it. One of the aspects of bdsm play is trusting that your partner will stop when you use the safe word...and with Kang Moo it’d be a gamble on whether he has the self control to stop when he needs to.
