nobles use to have a separate maid or nurse for the noble women of the house just for feeding the baby. it was looked down upon to breast feed as a noble and therefore you would choose an already pregnant maid or maid who recently gave birth to breast feed. If you were given a maid that was with child already and your child was drinking milk with the maid's then they were referred to as milk brothers and sisters.(〜￣△￣)〜
