Ok, on the flashback senpai looked thin, so I'm guessing that he was so insecure that he tried to change himself to please Akesato, but they broke up anyway. So he went berserk. And Akesato was traumatized for life. So he sticked to one-night-stands with hot, dark haired, tall guys and can't even hear the word love without panicking.
