soowon has to die. i feel like its only fitting to the story for that since we all know by his circumstances that its bound to happen. like, they're literally building the story up to that moment. heck- i thought he was already dead when he collapsed on the table even if it wasn't a medical condition, someone else is bound to chop him into pieces for all the things he's done. at first i thought it'd be hak but that sounds complicated. anyway, suddenly giving him a chance of life/cure is just too cliche. but i am very curious about the whole crimson illness and why it happens. we need more background about that. plus, yona has to sit on the throne. she's a rightful and capable heir. she's seen the country's downs and lows firsthand. what more could soowon need from the next ruler?

I certainly don’t think it’s an egoistic or petty reason why Soowon didn’t consider Yona, but I don’t think it’s an emotional reason either. He definitely cares about Yona and Hak, but I think he is very firm on his decision of not putting his own personal feelings over “what he must do”. Maybe he thinks anyone related in any way to the Crimson King wouldn’t be fit to lead Kouka (since they would rely on the power of the gods). And iirc Soowon doesn’t know what Yona thinks about the whole reincarnation thing. So idk, but there’s definitely more to it that him just ignoring Yona because he doesn’t want to admit she would be a great queen lmao

I think it’s clear by my tone but just in case, this is not meant to be an attack or anything! Just felt like a good debate I guess ^^

yes i agree !! he has pointed out that he hates the crimson dragon king and has not plans of ruling by using the godly powers ie the four dragons. it would make sense that he wouldnt want yona on the throne
