Yes but I thought the mom will do something more sketchy behind her back and sent an assassin or whatever to make sure she couldn’t do anything about their financial states and take over the mansion like how other villain mom would do. Or maybe the sister will try to seduce her bf or fiancé. Or her step sister will be used By her mom to betray her or kill her something like that.

Assassins cost money they clearly do not have. Also she have never actively hurt her bio daughters (that we know of). Also it seems like she isn't stupid? Nothing good will come of angering the person with the purse strings. Also which Merrick's personality that would only end poorly for her.
