Damn you’re wrote a whole novel and i wholeheartedly agree! I feel like Estelle suddenly becoming ‘mature’ and just shedding her personality was very sudden and weird. Another thing that odd is the fact she allowed the empress and princess to treat her like that for so long. Like she goes on and on about being a Castello and knowing that no matter what she does she will be judged harshly cause of her bloodline, yet acts calmly and takes it. Also yea Emel being a weird obsessive jerk out of no where shook me tf up, and nothing irked me more than his whole “she’ll never understand the real me” as if he wasn’t the one who decided to put on a act. He literally made all these choices by his own will deciding what Estelle would want rather than listening to Estelle and asking her. What made him think that showing up as princess iris escort would be the thing that helps him win her back? Or when he trampled over he feeling a AGAIN? Honestly there’s way more I can rip on but yea I agree with u 100%

EXACTLY!!! The author really seems to rush thing to get to the drama. Granted, without drama it can get boring but I really do prefer filler scenes with plot than the absolute mess of the plot depth right now.
My thoughts exactly on Emel, sweetie. Like?? YOURE THE ADULT, there is a responsibility on your actions cause youre grown. But he starts acting like he going thru puberty again and acting as if the whole world is against him?? Bestie nah, Emel better have a redemption arc to redeem himself.

Yes, yes, and YES! I think their are other ways to introduce drama for the story without a huge shift in personality that’s also contradictory. Like Estelle new personality isn’t even being executed fully because she switches up when it comes it other! Also I think her liking cute stuff and still being a bad ass is way cooler than her fake maturity act. Like imagine being talked down to by a 16yr old carrying a stuff bunny that’s so funny to me and reflects Estelle personality. She’s not dark and brooding, she’s refreshing, light, and has a lot of humility. Also her going to social events and caring what they say about her is very weird too
Emel is a whole can worms I don’t even want to open because he makes noooo sense. Before I could tell this going in a “ohhh they’re gonna be together” he was okay but once it shifted to a romantic path he started becoming a obsessive loser who has a bad case of “no one understands me” complex. His redemption arc better come swiftly cause ion like how he’s acting. He’s the adult (like you said) and you would think he would just talk it out and explain why he wants to become to marquis instead of lying to her, rejecting her, showing up in plan to mock her, and then bitch to her about your feelings and how their two different versions of you, confess to her , and reject your statement about how they’re are two different versions of you.

FACTSSS!! Everything you said are so true and I'm happy I aint alone in my #EmelNOTTheML agenda
I already lost hope when he decided to be a dick to Estelle this 'redemption arc' hope I have is for Estelle to be happy, OUR GIRL SUFFERED and yet she chases after a guy that will probably bring her some happiness but caused more grief. Plus, the author is really pushing them together
I love this a lot when it was still fresh. Of course, I didn't like some stuff like the implied torture and whatnot, plus the messy plot of the author. It was still fun to read.
I dropped it around the time skip. The writing and plot was bearable before but it just got worse.
(disclaimer: my opinion, if u disagree lets chat it out since this story has so much potential but it kinda flopped for me)
Estelle's sudden character development as a response to needing to be mature?? She can still be mature and grown despite liking more youthful designs. It was cool to see it but I think it would be better for her to gradually mature overtime instead of instantly. Like, let her struggle and understand maturity then suddenly gaining it out of nowhere. It would have helped us grow to respect her as a character and and a woman during those times fighting against patriarchy. Representation matters after all.
What's with the absolute lack of character depth of Karl and the Duke?? (Compare Claude of WMMAP to Karl and the Duke and youll see what I mean by lacking). Yes, they have a background story but it seems so flat? I don't know why but it feels as if there is nothing beyond their 'I hate everyone but Estelle' attitude. Yes, it is the absolute sweetest but if there was some more writing put into it, they would have more character depth. Like, they would grow with the main character so to say. The lack of conflict in the change just boggles me.
The (kind of) awkward becoming of Emels and Estelle's relationship?? Yeah sure, bodyguard and aristocracy, woohoo. But then the ML is acting like a jerk? and the MC manages to mature yet not change some form of her thinking? I thought she matured? Was there really no though behind author's eyes when they created the storyline?
Let's be real, he was alright up to the moment he started acting like he was the main character like excuse you? I liked him as a character and as a friend of Estelle but as a love interest? I can't feel the chemistry. Mister piano man has more chemistry with Estelle than Emel.
It also doesn't sit right with me how he chose to up and left? If I'm correct, he would around his twenties, a full adult and he chose to NOT communicate and instead inflict misunderstandings to Estelle? At the very least she deserves as EXPLANATION. Why did he torture her like that? ESPECIALLY when he was her first love?? For the sudden character development of Estelle??
Yeah sure, you're investigating yada yada. But Emel was also raised as an aristocrat, he would know that reputation matters. Did he not think Estelle would react all calm and composed when her first love walks in as an escort of her (supposed) rival aka the princess?? Did he not think, most of all, of the pain it would cause Estelle? A young girl who is still growing? Yeah no, Emel, get out.
Finally, did anyone else get annoyed with Estelle when she suddenly change from mature to dangerous woman but then decided to lose all composure in front of EMEL??? Sure, it was a mental breakdown but in the end, it genuinely represented what we needed in Estelle as an MC — woman power, girlboss, being rebelious and dangerous. Though she did have a bit of an overkill, I thought she would at least retain from that phase.
ANYWHO, sorry for the rant. I wanted get it off my chest. Have fun reading! If you like it, go ahead but I do advise not to invest too much interest. It can become frustrating if u do so. You do you guys, happy pride. (ㆁωㆁ)
