i wonder how that happend to such a happy couple but i think leon will or has taken steps to prevent that or he might not know thats what happend but i hope they can be happy this time i think she's a bit happire knowing lizzie and her story and being able to help her

Remember in the past chapters he said his memories of the past were becoming fuzzier and when he tried to Remember he got a major headache. I wonder if it's a side effect from the other timeline being erased and a new one being made.
yea tru but his moms death is pretty big it might have happedn a bit differnt beffore and i dont think leons dad would have told him his mom was depressed cuz that would add another height to his shoulders
this is what I found at novelspoilers, so I’m not 100% sure that this is what happened
The Empress was depressed about living in the palace and having no freedom she was used to when she was young, like horse riding, painting and having fun, so when she fell off the cliff the emperor somehow let her die to finally be free. And after that he went mad and ML had to replace him early, loosing a mother to an accident (?) and a father to a mental breakdown.
it seems that this is what happened at the first timeline, now I can only hope for a different future in the current timeline.
