It is like their customs uh maybe when they enter adulthood, you are a man to anyone even to your mother and you are a woman to anyone even to your brother. Maybe they don't have the knowledge abt incest thing....because their father or even their ancestors have done it so they didn't know that that is wrong, they just copy everything, just my wild guess

So my gut feeling is right that they are not blood related not even a single drop. It's either the MC's mom is already pregnent with her when the princes father found her orrr the MC's mother cheated...... I don't think its the latter though
