Damm even rereading this is so depressing. This is one of the most depressing manhwa iv ever read, it just feels like nothing can go right. No matter what the mc does he will always suffer. It just feels like an impossible situation, and even scarier, so real.

I think this story shows, outside of physical punishment is bad, what happens when you put too much emphasis on grades. It neglets the student's mental health and ultimately creates more problems than if the student just had bad grades. And its not just dont put too much pressure to get good grades, so the kids can get good grades, but grades ultimately shouldn't matter. Even when the mc got good grades, it didn't make him happy. The thing that made him happy was spending time with his friends. And although i dont know how it is in Korea, grades don't actually matter that much when you get out of highschool. The push for kids to get good grades isnt to help their future, but to control them, to rais them to be obedient. I mean why were school created in the first place. To teach kids to be factory workers. The most important thing for that job is to be obedient. And well, school hadn't change much since than. But now kids dont go to be factory workers, the are supposed to be encouraged to try new things, to explore their interests, but nope all that is not important, you have to excel at math because, i dont know, that just how life is. it doesn't matter if youre interested in art, you have to know history because they said so.
