I wouldn’t say that they romanticize the rape itself. Ppl are focused on the fact that if they just spoke to each other in high school they would be one of those perfect couples (+wouldn’t be bad if they went to a therapist that time too) the author clearly portrayed how bad the rape was and it wasn’t smth good. Ppl are pitying them and hoping that they would have a better life

Nope, only thing I'm concerned with is how the rape/murder/literally anything bad contributes to the story. The point of a bad thing happening to any character may indeed be a device used by the author to try and draw sympathy from the reader, but of course this isn't always the case. Take a look at any villain, bad shit always happened to them but that part of their backstory creates a more fleshed out character/contributes to their motive or reasoning of being a villain. But just because some character who does bad shit has the backstory of being raped as a child or whole clan killed or whatever doesn't justify them trying to rule the world, it just explains it.
Within the fiction on this site, rape is especially prominent as a plot device/ez sympathy points, but they don't always do something for the plot. At a point the rape just becomes annoying, like goddamn can you think of something else up. I've seen it used so many times that the inital shock factor really wears off. It's like how every anime villain always has there entire family killed by their brother or whatever. Truly shocking the first time I saw that sure, but after a hundred more of those backstories it just seems banal at best.
I would like to point out again, that this is within the context of fiction. It's not like if my friend gets raped or has her family killed I'll go "wow this is the perfect opportunity to start your villain character arc" because again, I can separate fiction and reality. You can feel however you want about fiction, not liking the ending of this story is completely fine, but don't just go and assume that anyone who doesn't have the same opinion as you is chill with rapists or something. If that's the case guess no one can like or enjoy any villain character ever since that would mean you'd be okay with murder or some other crap.
Tf when did I mention liking lolis. No I don't like them, if someone does that's their own damn problem.

Whaaaat, you're kidding me right?! You're telling me that everyone has their own opinion???? I can't believe it, my entire world view is shattered. Truly mind-blowing.
Yes ofc I know that wtf the first thing I address is that I'm speaking about MY OWN opinion and I also say you can have whatever opinion you want about fiction so stop getting so pressed over mine.

Yes, my cat passed away recently.
Also tf you have against books you read in school? I find that the majority of the required reading(within the US at least) : The Great Gatsby, 1984, Animal Farm, To Kill a Mockingbird, Crime and Punishment, etc. are all amazing and insightful works that can't even be compared to the shallow garbage that litters 99% of this site.

Oh and since I seriously doubt you understood the words used in the definition, I earnestly took the liberty of providing those as well. Your welcome.

my gosh, are u that dumb? smh 'Wow I can't believe that you would classify rape as "weird." As both a victim of rape and a rapist I find that extremely offensive and you need to check yourself smh'' that was your response and then I comment who said I didn't get rape u said check yourself and I did also i have never said it was weird.Don't get offend because ''i thought we was spreading reality and fiction''

I quote "read read read yes the teacher tells y'all" Yes there's so much to gather from this truly complex comment. The books I've listed are all from the list of required reading within the US from middle to high school. This list is comprised of some of the greatest books ever written so I'm sure that everyone 100% agrees that these books are garbage
It was very toxic and I really dislike people who romanticise toxic relationships, that too saying they ship them even though one of the character got raped constantly. Idk how ya'll realise or not, stop normalising rape as if it's nothing. Ofcourse it's fictional, but everything starts from what you learn
I hope you guys are not behaving towards someone you love like this pathetic rapist and I hope you guys are not toxic in real life cause if you are, go get a therapy or something
The story was really heartbreaking
I didn't want them to end up together honestly. I was kind of sick and tired of the toxicity at one point, but I still kept reading cause I guess I just wanted to cry really bad and this story was sort of an outlet of letting out my frustrations in life.
