Personally, I think the husband from the last story really does love his wife, even when he's cheating on her. I mean, think about it--why would a person bother marrying someone and providing for them without having sexual relations and starting a family with them? It makes no sense...unless, of course, the person in question is deeply besotted with their partner. So, I'm quite certain that that is the case here. Also, the ending throws some ambiguity in the story, since we're left wondering whether or not Seiichi really had amnesia or whether he was just pretending to have it so that he could reset his relationship with his wife.
