people misuse the heavy words like pedophilia and grooming to death its genuinely upsetting :/
and yeah as someone who lives in a non English speaking country, age gaps are rly common and no one rly cares. most of my friends in hs who were 17/18 dated someone who was jn their 20s and that was considered totally normal. it's so weird to me to see the outcry abt it on the internet these days lol maybe bc ppl in the ages of 17 and 18 are not infantilized and treated like babies in real life.
I know, right some people use those words so easily nowadays, i can picture the difference between them, if the adult never approaces the young one in a lustful o disgusting way, never send them sexual pictures, never touch them without consent and never coerce them to do something they don't want or treathen them, nor the adult gets aroused by any children or show disgusting behabour arround them then this is not pedophilia. Sometimes our fated one is not born on the right time to adjust social standars. My grandparents got married when my grandma was 16 and my granpa was 28, yet they have a nice family, and two kids. Some people neds to calm down, and I have seen it a lot nowadays it happens when some hypocrite people in k-pop industry, they claim pedophilia when it's about stright relationships with age gap, but then they go sexualazing idols that are 15 years old and do gay (I got nothing against gay relationships, I even read yaoi, but one thing is a fiction character and another thing is a real person, and it appeared to me as a trending I didn't searched it) storys on whatpadd when they get abused and all kind of things by several member of the same band, it really pissed me off.

Now I don't see any of this kind of behavior in Ryo anywhere. He genuinely cares for her and had never made any sexual advances towards her even though he apparently has a lot of millage... Plus, they're relationship was of mutual respect and even if you don't believe it that way, Ichika is a strong FM that stands for what she believes in so Ryo has no hold over her in that manipulative sort of way. And SPOILER after they confess, she asks for him to wait until she graduates, and he gladly does so.
Age gaps are more common in other countries out of America and as long as they do it the right way, it's OK. FYI In Japan, with parents permission, men can marry when they turn 18 and women can already get married at 16.
