I’m in not really sure if we do. I think Yū’s parents abandoned him in the street or just left him somewhere and forgot about him because for the whole story we only see Yū with his cat and we don’t see his parents. He didn’t really have a running house and it had cracks in the walls. Most likely Yū got abandoned by his parents and saved up a few dollars and either bought or just found a house/abandoned house and decided to live there and buy food with the many he saved. I think that’s what happens. But if I find a few photos of his parents, I’ll try to tell you. Σ(っ°Д °;)っ
