First of all we are not talking about reality, we are talking about a manga and if people tell you: "If you support it in the manga then you'll eventually support it in real life too" just tell them that they are mistaken. Second of all ren knows very well what they are doing and he is OK with it so I think it would've been pedophilia if ren wasn't aware or was against of what they are doing. Also if your friend doesn't like this manga or the anime it's their problem not yours so don't let their opinion get you.
