It's not that he doesn't like Neveah, it's that he likes the emperor more and grew up with different set of values. Also not revealing the truth was Neveah's choice and red hair telling the truth is his choice. In fact I'm happy that he told her. She needs to know the truth. I was getting tired of everyone lying to Rubiel.
