I've actually never really been a fan of diamonds either. It would mean more to get a pretty stone that reminds them of me out of hundreds of different stones rather than a diamond imo. Alec didn't realize it was the color of his eyes though so it wasn't intentional. It would be awkward to explain it to her when it was accidental.

Sorry. I’m not trying to be unrealistic since everyone seems to want to remind me that brown is the dominant gene. I simply find the western demands for plain diamonds boring. At least the cuts are changing over times I guess. I personally find oval placement quite pretty but still find the stigma behind wedding bands in such a manner aged, ridiculous and overpriced.
I always found the color concept cute. Here people just traditionally buy diamonds and I find it boring.
