I don't believe that's their intention (to show it's ok to manipulate =w=') but rather present the conflict of this arc that's exactly jiwoon behaviour and his family problems/traumas. Because they clearly show that THAT'S an issue, and not something cute or lovable.
I know the author isn't saying the manipulation is ok. However, I am uber tired of semes doing something toxic and then they get some sob story background. Then, the couple just moved on...
No, it would be nice for it to be addressed as an issue and maybe then they can smooch and be happy.
Jiwoon gets his "I have issues" background chapter and then it's going to go back to him and suha like everything is fine. I hope there is some kind of positive change in jiwoon's behaviour.
I don't care if he has abandonment issues...he doesn't get to emotionally abuse his partner.
