No it's not. It's just a fiction. This genre is categorised as "face-slap" just to boost the reader's ego. Quite satisfying for those who enjoys it. I'm not really into this genre but I like the MC's hair so I stick around.
Man, I dunno if it's their culture or what- I've read Chinese webnovels with the same dynamics. Like the MC starts reasonably likeable being an underdog and then turns a 180 after getting some influence because he happens to have xx connections. Not to mention there's always the shitty wife & family in the mix. Is it supposed to be romantic to be this stupidly loyal (beyond common sense)?
