Plus he did so with patches if the people of the orphanage didn't know him they'd tell him something like "ah... Even if you hide it with patches it'll look like you're constantly injuring yourself from fights like a delinquent, we can't show that to the kids" asian culture goes so deeply into hiding so much from children like...
