I agree. Pretty frustrating
Because like smart people they understand that toxic characters don't really change? Why is it that most people think that a toxic character falling in love with someone is an example of true change though?
No I'm not talking about their idea that the toxic people can become better. Honestly I hate most of the main love interests in these stories, but I appreciate the plots and concepts. The romance just tends to be annoying.
My point was why do they all believe that said toxic person will fall in love with only that one character and never anybody else regardless of what the mc does? It simply doesn't make sense when they change so many other aspects of the story to believe that only that one thing will not change.
I don't get it. What's with all of the main characters in these types of stories having some unfounded, ridiculous idea that nothing about love in the story can be changed despite changing LITERALLY EVERYTHING ELSE. It's like the entire plot rides upon the fact that these girls can't talk bluntly unless it's convenient and have one idiotic belief that they can't let go.
