I don't think there's any possession here, nothing seems to hint towards that. Remember that Jermel seems very cold but admirable to others and he only showed his true despicable side to Judith when he realized she had potential to be his murder weapon.
Jermel must've been possesed in the MC's past life by the same hooded guy (from the jail). Coz he doesn't seem to have evil vibes in the present.
