don’t worry about it too much, he just wants to take ML’s position as the personal escort of our Eve but they’ll get along soon and Elijah will start calling ML “brother” as he was his savior that he has been looking for but gave up thinking ML’s already dead (ML had pink hair back then so he didn’t realize it sooner)
