I think it was just love or whatever. Lol Mir specifically the Duke falling in love with someone that did it.
That or it was someone genuinely/selflessly caring about him and wanting him to live well despite the curse.

Ok wait, if I’m remembering it correctly it was the prince who was supposed to be cursed right? But the king transferred the curse to the duke. But I can’t remember how she got rid of the curse, does anyone remember? Lol.
