I'm neither a native speaker nor a fluent one (since I learnt it from friends) but it makes my brother and me lol. He got his own name so why the author chose to put Vasya as one. Like okay we got your full name a bit more fancy but you're still got to be called Vasya
As a Russian speaker I can’t stop laughing at ML name. Vasya is the most stereotypical USSR name. I know that author just googled “most popular Russian name” and chose the first one
