I think it's mainly because he took interest in him when he healed him and since he was from the royal family it could've corrupted his mind and how to show affection but since in this lifetime he taught the emperor well so that makes him different from how he is now
I want an explanation as to why the emperor did what he did in the other life and how things went down in his perspective it would be so interesting
