Kinda annoys me when people are like 'remember when this plot was easy or understandable' or 'i don't get it' . Like in the first half of the story building up to the revolt and the king's beheading, there was a very clear line in the story: it was all building up to wolfgang overthrowing the old king. That's an easy major plotline to folllow. Now the major plotline is much less evident as no one really knows how to maintain a kingdom after a revolution. The characters are figuring it out themselves, hence the plot becomes more 'difficult' and has more extra side stories.
"Now the major plotline is much less evident as no one really knows how to maintain a kingdom after a revolution." That's an excellent point and you articulated it so eloquently, thank you.
