I’m not sure why some people are unhappy with the pacing and itching for faster development. If anything, this IS development. Yuri and Jiri are very broken beings, and Jiri’s the most broken out of the two, so seeing both at their worst can make anyone anxious. Does it get better? How, and most importantly, when?
I think “romance” is still a long way coming. But based on what we have been given so far, I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait. Actually, at this point, romance or not, so long as they can find their happiness, that’s what will be really worthy of waiting.
