Well, once you fall in love, it's hard to fall out, especially when you find out your love is returned. Yu & Souji have always loved each other, even if it took some time and a bunch of shit in between for them to admit it to each other and for things to work out. Masahito always loved Yu, but Yu only cares for him as a friend, so...yeah, naturally, it'll end that way.
