It's crazy because shes not even a dark complexion like how do you actually feel about dark skin tones.

We can tell this story was set around victorian times where white milky skin was considered beautiful so in order for her to not be seen she chose to make her skin a darker shade which can't even be considered dark since it literally looks orange lol. Sometimes you gotta think about the times these stories takes place in.
So to make hereslf "ugly" she puts on a darker foundation and adds freckles? I already don't like it I've been seeing way too much of darker equates to ugly/evil and it's usually in manga/hwa/hua. The story line seems good but the choice to pick "oh shes dark ewww" was fucked up. Another thing its usually a go to for females a darker toned man is sexy or exotic.
