Bipolar disorder, in story it's okay, but in real life it's scary as hell. Run, of you find a bipolar person because there's a chance the person will be violent.

Yea no. We AREN'T going to stigmatize mental illness here. That isn't how bipolar disorder works and I'd like you to step off the podium and actually research and listen to people who have the disorder work. Library of Medicine can help, the DSM can help, and even watching videos of people speaking about the disorder can help. Your misinformation is only causing more harm.

bipolar is a mood disorder but there’s a reason it’s called “ceo disease”. They can super-achieve when on the manic high. They’re also more likely to harm themselves than other people. It’s not something they can control—when they come down it’s not fun for them either. Medication and therapy help manage it really well, more folks than you’d think are bipolar and totally functional

Not every person diagnosed with bipolar is violent. It can be as mild as unable to control the level of emotion they express. Depending on how strong the emotion can be a bit dangerous, but with the medication today they can control it on a normal level. Therapy helps, and having a great support system in place, like just the right people to be there when they need a safe person to lean on at the moment.

You're thinking of another disorder that has a bad rap as well, but also if the person is taking their meds and following their proper steps, they'd be fine to be around. Like someone said before, they're more of a risk to themselves then some random stranger, they tend to self-destruct before they'd harm another person.
