As much as I know from the spoilers
There are 3 books
Book1: first life(season 1) (original timeline)
Book2: aelock regressed and klopp doesn't know anything from the first timeline (think of it as a different timeline where only aelock has the memories of the original timeline)
Book3: klopp regressed and aelock doesn't have the memories from timeline 1
Basically the author said that both the souls regressed but in seperate alternative universes. So that means both can't actually be with the person they fell in love with originally in the first timeline but an alternate version of them. Aelock is okay with that and he continues his life with the klopp from the 2nd timeline but klopp acknowledges the fact that the aelock he fell in love with and ruined was no longer here and he can no longer see him so the only way he could make up to him and pay for what he did was to treat the aelock of the 3rd timeline with love and respect.
