I did a quick googly and found out that there is a thai rapper/singer/manyotherthings who lives in Korea.
Kunpimook Bhuwakul who is nicknamed BamBam (Korean: 뱀뱀; RR: Baembaem; Thai: แบมแบม).
I would asume that maybe this name is more frequent due to the stan culture over there, so the creators of webtoons just pick names of people they like that still sound pet-like? Would make sense anyway.
I found no other entry stating that it's a common petname, so my bet is on fangirls doing their thing.
Just out of curiosity, is Bambam a common name for animals in Korea? This is the second time I’ve seen a pet be named Bambam in a webtoon. Is it similar to Fido or Mittens?
