This is a story from MC’s past life I’m assuming.
MC’s childhood friend was a royal family member, however the friend felt that his family was not fit to rule (because they were letting civilians die and also probably something to do with how MC got exiled before) so decided to kill them all. His friend wanted to control MC probably due to an obsession with him but MC didn’t want to live like that, confined in the palace so he ran away. That was when MC came across that village that was empty as well as ML (dragon) “drowning” in the pond.
