The old guy was just another human trafficker who sold women as slaves for money, only difference is his method to catch the women was by pretending to be coming to their rescue: in order to get the women to not hide or run away from him, gaintheir trust and get them to lower their guard against him, he told them he would hide them away and save them from the human traffickers, and then delivered them himself right into the traffickers' hands
