Like- at first I wanted to read this bc the cover obviously was BL, but just reading it through, I actually was more interested in the plot of their world versus the "couple" itself. I can't even sense a tinge of romance except the intimate moments when he "drinks" his blood. The romance part is probably gonna get there soon, but in some way, I kinda wished this wasn't BL???? If that makes sense
Also, I like how it explored that the MC has interactions with women that aren't meant to be plot devices to be spiteful all the damn time. It's nice.
Yeah I get it lol! I think it's how the manga treats the relationships. For me, it doesn't really have that "BL lens" when it comes to its two main characters, so it's a nice change of pace. I don't really mind if it's a BL or not, I just hope the author replies on this writing style for developing the characters since it's really intriguing so far.

If you look at this authors other works, I believe this is their first bl? They mainly do slice of life and I was surprised with this one bc BL doesn’t really suit their style tbh

I honestly would've still love this if it wasn't BL at all. Strangely enough, if only it wasn't.
