Honestly same, though the difference way back then was that translators were still in their baby stage and most were amateur fans trying to read and just sharing their work. It was hard back then to even acquire raws.
The recent happenings though???? Naaahhhhhh these aren't even amateur anime/manwha/manga fans. It's a bunch of trash looking to make money with their shitty translations on their shitty data siphoning site.
Honestly i'm so petty to the point where i just really want to rub it in those ppl who said give it a rest back then coz those ppl are the ones who encourage those shitty translations to this day. E.g: manhwaclan, teenmanhua, S2manga, etc
This is the cause & effect of what their encouragement without constructive criticism did. I saw the website of where these translations come from and it's all just positive remarks with 1% providing constructive criticism.
Oh yeah, i'm talking about those websites. Those data siphoning sites who shoved their advertisement everywhere by making a mess with the already uploaded chapters. I was one of those who tried to fight against it by pointing out how scummy they were to ppl but i got disliked bombed lol.
Those comments really fuelled my days back then. Like I was entertained coz of them albeit being pissed af lmao
