Not only resembling him, IS him. The fact the child she never met could look like him and she can only envision the what ifs as well remember seeing his face last before she disappeared makes sense.
I actually think the MC is really kind because she still helping him . She can just ignore him while getting abuse and stuff or just left him in the palace and don't tend his wounds back then. Man, just imagine her feelings everytime she look at his face. Prolly remembering the betrayal and stuff.
the mc isnt that mean to him, more like giving him mixed signals. like first she be defending him, holding hands with him, then she be drawing a line between them. a behavior based on resentment and pity, which is realistic more or less. like yall expect her to be totally kind to the boy resembling a man she resents?
