yeah i think bc of her relationship with the king her view of marriage is kinda skewed though ig that sort of thing would have been very common in that sort of mediaeval setting. from her experience and the way she was raised she believes that power and alliance comes first and the mistresses are the one who are truly loved... i was really hoping that she would actually change her mind but i also do understand her pov

I believe it is because marriages between nobles at the time were purely for contractual reasons, that’s why many of the men had mistresses
yeah most of them didnt even meet e/o before getting married and im pretty sure some ppl did fall in love after marriage but generally neither were in love in that sort situation
At this point I think she's belives marriages are solely contractual and Mistresses are the ones who get genuine love and affection. Look at her marriage. Her son basically said he pitied her
