what do you want us to say? that jaekhyung is such a good person when he's literally far from that? the fuck is wrong with y'all? everyone is allowed to express their frustration towards him, specially since he's portrayed as an A list asshole. the story revolves around him being a fuck ass douchebag and y'all are mad at people for calling him that. get a grip, that's what the story demands, for people to have this sort of reaction. y'all are insufferable with this tired ass take

and readers are still allowed to call him of what he is, a piece of shit. y'all think just because the story revolves around rape and non-con and power imbalance that's an excuse to just accept whatever jaekhyung's doing up in the ass. that's dan's job. readers are allowed to express their disdain towards a character who's check every mark to what a loathsome human being is. y'all stay defending him as if he's gonna come out of the story and thank y'all one by one, let it rest. he's an asshole, and people are calling him that. 1 + 1 = 2

like i’m not saying you have to suck jaekyung’s dick or praise him, but like EVERY chapter there like 10 or more comments with people clutching their pearls at what he’s doing. it’s not even in a ‘oh lol he’s such an asshole i hate him’ — people just shit about how they hate the relationship/dynamic/trope as if it’s not a core piece of the narrative! THATS what i’m tired of, bc if you don’t like the characters/relationship/narrative then why are you reading, seriously? like my question is genuine: are you hate-reading or what?

I honestly thought we were getting pre-redemption arc (like he realizes he gets jealous bc he cares for the other human being, blah blah you know - the usual trope), but yea after reading this episode, I’ve come to terms with the fact that this manhwa might just be abuse porn, plain and simple. art is so good but my visceral reaction to this episode was so strong (ig I was triggered by the him denying him the ability to say no and the subsequent rape) that I think I’ll either pause and come back to see if if got any better, or just drop it.

well yes, a lot of people are hate reading and that's fine. and if they want to continue to shit on him for being an asshole that's also fine because he is. same with saying how tropes like this are disgusting and whatnot. it's a story centered around abuse and rape and everything in between, so it's already common knowledge how it will have so many negative assessments, and as it should. i for one have no qualms in reading stuff like this and getting into my emotions regarding the characters because that just means i'm invested and ready to call it how it is. but also i'll be more worried if it doesn't get some people disturbed given how this shit isn't even morally gray and just straight up dark

1) I never said anybody was not allowed to call out Jaek's behavior.... 2) nor did I say that the story's purposeful theme of non-con and rape, excuses any of the behavior being exhibited by the character. 3) I also never defended Jaek or any abusive character in this story ...... That having been said I would appreciate if you didn't put words in my mouth. I am not the only person here perceiving the genuine shock, surprised, and "blindsided" reaction comments as weird/curious. Some of us are genuinely not shocked by this turn of events in the storyline, because there have literally been 30+ chapters telling and showing us that a "spade is a spade". So I (and others with similar thought process) will continue reading the story expecting "spade behavior" without shock. After your explanation as to other people's more sensitive responses to the last chapter, I can conclude that there will be people who will be easily fazed no matter how much the expectation was written in advance, and then there are those who will be unfazed because we know what to expect no matter how bad it gets. (Like you said, "1 + 1 = 2") The most any of us can do is explain the mindset/logic behind our own reactions, and for me, I take things at face value and question if things appear confusing or do not add up. I don't sit and flasely accuse or make assumptions about other people's expressed words. That is all.

I understand now. I get the hating concept. I guess I was just baffled by why people are shocked by this behavior, went to me (and others) none of this was ever new, and it was in fact expected after repetitive displays of his increasingly abusive behavior. I always expect it to get worse.... But I can also predict where something is going to go or end up, before it follows through. (Like, the moment I read Jaek's cellphone text to Heesung, I didn't need to finish the chapter to know exactly how it was going to end.) Either way, I feel that all the chapters prepped me for what to expect, so I never feel surprised or shocked the way others seem to feel. I don't know if that's just a "me" thing.

I think you and I are of the same mindset. Because we take things literally and at face value, our questioning others' reactions of shock are genuine. I get the hate commenting just for hating sake. But the genuine shock emotions as if his behaviors are anything new, were genuinely baffling to me. For me, I will not feel shocked no matter how bad this gets, because at this point it's predictive reading, given that every chapter has held true and consistent to the behavioral archetype of Jaek. Almost as if we've been prepped for this the whole time, so there is no additional emotional response necessary.

I feel people are more angry because just when they start to think that Joo is actually maybe getting slightly better with treating him he does something disgusting like this. Honestly I am not surprised what I am surprised by is that Heesung seems actually like a good person but I guess people hoped for joo to be slightly better since everybody suspected Heesung and then joo does smthn like this

In that chapter "throwback", where we get to see when they met each other at the bar during their beginnings together in the talent agency, we were made aware that they are both horrible people... But looking back at the all the past chapters, the whole story let us know the differences between the two, and made it clear that Jake is WAAAAAAAAY WORSE! Chapter 34 just brutally slapped that distinct comparison in people's face!
babes y’all knew wtf was going on the moment you clicked on this…why are people still surprised this is toxic at chapter 30 something ( ̄∇ ̄") genuinely, are y’all hate reading at this point or what?
