But isn't the humiliation of admiting he's a failure or whatever better off than keep enduring that kind of treatment? IF he moves on then he could try hard to not be a failure (don't get me wrong am not saying he is one, he's just a victim). I just fail to understand that train of thought.

I agree with you I also think admitting everything is better, maybe because I never was bullied before.
But I think bullying victims just get robbed from their confidence, courage and clarity as time pass until they reach a point where they can’t think straight, I know some bullying and sexual abuse victims and they literally told me ( what will people say ? I would rather die than be something other people are talking about ? ), so yes I agree with they are difficult to understand .

It is not that easy. As a victim of SA, it took me years to talk about it with someone else, and even more time to actually look for help. And let me tell you, abused people tend to self blame and demonize themselves while they become frightened of become even lesser at other eyes. It doesn't really matter, how supportive your surrounding is, most of tte victim tend to close or pretend that everything is fine, because the moment you stop acting fine in front of other, then you have to accept what happened to you, and that is the hardest I think.

yeah no. i was a victim of sa and when i finally spoke up to my friends and family after years of silence i was blamed and made fun of. it's not that easy. you may think it is but when you actually go through it, it alters your mind for the rest of your life. sure, ive healed, but on some days, i think about it and those days are the most terrible ones i can ever have. please think before you speak.
