You know, as much as i love this and grandpa is cool, he is also quite... Harsh. I mean, in her previous life, she was as much deserving of what she has now, except the only difference is that she is not growing up, she is already a grown up, and that's why he is recognizing her now and not in her previous life. That is very sad for me, cos it's like he doesn't allow her to be a child, and she has to DESERVE his affection and attention.

I understand that this is noblesse and bourgeoisie but still, it's dumb and stupid, especially since his attitude makes people, like Tia's father, not coming to their full potential. They're wary of him, if not scared, and you can see that in this chapter where the kiddos are very shy toward him.

Anyway, my point here is that grandpa is cool but he is not a very good grandpa or dad. It's easy to like him now since Tia manages to litteraly win his affection cos she's not acting as the child she is but as a grown up who understands his expectations when she should never have to do this as a litteral child.

I agree. Seeing as he was the patriarch for so long into his old age (based on first timeline where he fell sick and grown up Tia was already helping him), I would say that he relied on his wife to raise the kids and once she died, he just left the kids to grow up by themselves. Im not saying this was wrong because he had a lot of responsibilities outside of the family as the head of a prominent noble family. But he tended towards a hands off approach for raising kids. He wanted them to develop into their own persons, which is nice but he didn’t realize they needed guidance still. He only seems to notice when they’re standing out (like Tia and Gallahan in this life). It almost makes it like they’re supposed to earn his attention.

I would also argue that he loves all of his kids and grandkids. Some more than others. Hence why he’s willing to give viese a chance still. BUT with so many of them, both kids and grandkids, plus his own work, he just didn’t have time for his family. But that doesn’t excuse him because it seems like he already does a lot of delegating, so he could’ve definitely made time. He just decided not to.

Yeah, i agree with all of this, that's why i don't condemn him too much and i still like him cos he likes his kids and grandkids even if his way to express that is not that easy

I have this problem with a lot of reincarnation stories, especially if the FL isn’t isekaied by Truck-sama. I feel this way mostly with stories that involve the FL going back in time to their childhood (this story being both an isekai and time travel). The idea that either the ML or their own families didn’t like them, and then once they come back acting like an adult in a child’s body then the everyone suddenly loves them gives me a bit of an icky feeling. It makes the love feel conditional. The ML I can sometimes, not all the time, forgive because the FL does usually treat them completely different. The families have no excuses. Most times I can look past this feeling but it definitely goes through my mind more often than not.

That's true, tho what is nice with this one is that the ml and her didn't know each other except for their name (in the case of Tia anyway for the name)

What is less nice and i'm feeling conflicted about is that well, Tia is a grown up in a child body, he isn't. That's a problematic that we see often in isekai and/or time travel but is never adressed, the age difference (if we Can call it that) that seems to suddenly disappear for the sake of romance. In this case, what bugs me is that it's not really grooming but it kinda is. She doesn't approach him with romantic intent at all but the fact that we, as lector, know that he is the ml as a CHILD cos he looked at her as her savior and she was the first one to be nice to him cos she is an ADULT that can empathize and understand things that a child can't

Idk just a bit icky to me but i like it and well it's an isekai you know, pretending to not know is somewhat better since this one is a really good read otherwise

I’d argue that it’s not grooming. She approached him to help only to help herself in the future iirc. You’re only calling it semi-grooming because it’s obvious that she’s developing feelings for him.

As for the “adult in child’s body” problem, I’ve never seen it as big of an issue as most have. One, it’s fiction and two, I’ve seen it simply as the “adult-like child” phenomenon that we attribute to children that seem more mature than they should be. Really, the only reason they can be called an “adult” is due to their memories and experiences. If she had returned back in time without the memories and experiences, she would’ve simply been a child. Basically, it’s all an issue of the brain.

That's why i called it kinda grooming (and i even hesitated before using this term, it's not the right word) because it's not, like you said she approached him to help herself and him, so yeah it's not grooming. I think i only called it that cos as readers we know he is the ml even as a child, idk i'm confusing myself now

Still, the setting bugs me a little cos for me she is no child, she is fully developped intellectually if not physically and he is not, no matter if she is developping feelings or not, as readers we know it's gonna come it's inevitable. That's what is weird for me, she is not just a mature adult-like child, she is an adult (which is also why grandpa values her so much now as opposed to her previous life where she was an adult too but she couldn't adjust to this life yet)

Anyway, in the end, it's only a minor thought that i have sometimes on this, it doesn't bother me that much ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
