I think it's impactful, because he behaves like a child as well, y'know. His mind is still immature here, exactly like a kid's :C It gives the impression of helplessness. Oc the readers know his true nature, it's just f-ed up how they've treated him, but not surprizing tbh.
Idk why people cling onto hyoun's child form and cry about it being weird. that's a temporary vessel. He can change it. Your cries for that "child's" protection is meaningless and at the end of the day all you've done is make it weirder than it ever has to be.
