I've always believed that this story was supposed to end at around 30-40. I think author/artist didn't expect the popularity and is probably trying their hand at world/plot expansion but it feels like the stakes aren't really there because of how intense that kouichi choosing-to-stay arc was resolved/magic solutions/etc.
Kinda just want the egg to hatch already, it feels like it's been dragging forever. I feel like I remember it shook or cracked in earlier chapters and then nothing. Or did I just hallucinate it because I want this trial to be over?
